Kolon Industries is one of the leading multinational conglomerates headquartered in South Korea. Since its establishment in 1957, the company has continuously achieved impressive milestones in the manufacturing of high-tech products such as tire cords, automotive airbags, and industrial films used in the electrical and electronics sectors.
Kolon Industries selected Bàu Bàng, Bình Dương as a strategic location for its tire cord and airbag production project in Vietnam, establishing Kolon Industries Binh Duong Co., Ltd. The total investment for the project amounts to USD 1 billion, covering a 42-hectare site and divided into three phases. Phase 2, which spanned from 2018 to 2022 with an investment of USD 600 million, was completed at the end of September 2022. During this phase, the plant’s capacity was expanded by 19,200 tons, increasing its total production capacity from 84,000 tons to 103,200 tons per year.
